Pastoral Council

A Pastoral Council is a group of people chosen from and by the parish who together with the parish priests seek to fulfill the mission of the Church by accepting the responsibility to guide, to determine the direction of the parish, and to oversee its pastoral activity and temporal affairs. In the preamble to its constitution, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Pastoral Council says this about itself and the parish: “We are a faith community who truly believe that Jesus Christ is Lord. We believe we have the obligation to worship God, to preach and witness the Gospel, and to love and serve all people in ever-expanding circles of neighborhood, diocese, and world. Each member of this community is called to share in this mission and ministry of the Church. To continue to meet this obligation, our parish must be sensitive to the changing and future needs of our community, and must respond to them.
