Sacramental First Eucharist/Communion Preparation
Beginning at the 2nd Grade level, children are invited to prepare for and receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist for the first time. The preparation and reception of theses Sacraments will take place over the course of a school year. Children are encouraged to receive their First Reconciliation prior to receiving their First Eucharist/Communion so that they are able to receive the presence of Christ in the greatest state of purity.
Please note: It is okay to postpone preparation for either of these Sacraments if you do not feel your child is ready to prepare for and receive one or both of the Sacraments this year. Programming will be available to children through 5th Grade according to the readiness of the child.
Curriculum
First Eucharist preparation uses We Are Called to Celebrate Eucharist: Sacramental Preparation for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in conjunction with The Catholic Children’s Bible. This program consists of weekly at-home parent & child workbook activities, as well as two reflections and a retreat led by a Director of Child Ministry.

The cost of the First Reconciliation/Eucharist program is $55 per child. This fee includes the cost of two workbooks and The Catholic Children’s Bible, as well as a ceramic blessing cup and banner materials.
