Women’s Morning of Reflection

The Women’s Morning of Reflection brings over 100 women from several area parishes together to explore a wide variety of topics for a morning of prayer and reflection. It usually involves one or more presenters speaking on a particular scriptural theme. This retreat normally occurs in November of each year. It gives all of the women a chance to leave behind the stresses of daily life and spend time getting to know the love of Jesus.

Laura Gertz shared the slides from her presentation here:

11th Annual Morning of Reflection for Women of All Ages
Boundaries and Self-Care:  Taking Care of Ourselves while Taking Care of Others

Laura Gertz, licensed professional counselor, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parishioner and mom of three daughters, will help us explore the concepts of boundaries and self-care. How are women called to take care of ourselves as well as others and how do we create a healthy balance? Spend time reflecting personally and join in group discussion as we work toward a healthier way of living.

About the Presenter...

Laura Gertz, LPC is an outpatient psychotherapist with Advocate Aurora Health Behavioral Health Services. She has been with the organization for 12 years, working with children, adolescents, and adults and more recently honing her specialty in perinatal mental health and women’s health. Laura enjoys educating others about perinatal mental health in addition to providing treatment.

Outside of work, Laura is a busy wife and mom of 3 beautiful daughters, ages 14, 10, and 5. She volunteers as a band mom, dance mom, and Girl Scout troop leader while also spending Sunday mornings with Seton’s 4th and 5th graders as a catechist. As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors, visiting family in Minnesota, dance parties, and playing board and video games.

In her free time, Laura enjoys reading (especially with the Seton Moms Book Club), crocheting, puzzles, and spending time with her husband. She is excited to be presenting at this year’s Women’s Morning of Reflection.
