Seton/NDSM Partnership
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish has been partners with Notre Dame Middle School, a sponsored ministry of the School Sisters of Notre Dame since 1996. The school has grown from a small school serving 26 Latino middle school aged girls to presently serving over 650 Latino students and expanding to three separate campuses comprising of grades 5 – 8 girls school, grades 5-8 boys school and grades K3-4 primary co-ed school. Since it is no longer only a Girls Middle School, the school was renamed Notre Dame School of Milwaukee (NDSM) to encompass the whole K3-8 school community. Learn more about the school here.

After School Snack Program - 2024/25
The After School Program at NDSM is a critical wraparound service that supports the needs of students and families, helping keep students safe and supervised while offering programming to ensure students’ academic success and personal growth. After the end of the traditional school day, middle school students participate in different opportunities, including artistic, educational, and athletic programs. During their break, students receive a snack before they attend the planned activities. Seton has been providing snacks for over 20 years. As the number of middle school girls and boys increase so the need for additional volunteers to help continue the program.

How the Seton/NDSM Snack program works:
Our goal is to provide healthy individually sized snacks for these students during the 2024/25 school year.
Snacks preferred: The Pirates Booty Popcorn, Vegetable Straws, Fruit Snacks, Cheez-its, Goldfish crackers, and cheese peanut butter crackers or similar to these. Bulk quantities are best found at Costco, Sam’s Club, Walmart and Target.
Snacks can either be purchased and dropped off at Seton during the assigned dates or can be ordered online and have them sent directly to NDSM.
Volunteers are invited to help with one month or additional months, whatever their preference. One month’s donation = a minimum of 160 snacks averaging in cost approximately $65.
Join the snack team
18-20 volunteers are needed each month (a total of 7 months)
Donating snacks is made easy through the SignUpGenius Program

Volunteer Opportunities
Mentors and volunteers are critical members of the NDSM school community who support their students and ensure their success at NDSM and beyond. Volunteers help NDSM in a variety of ways, including by serving as tutors, library aides, and after school activity leaders.
Mentors are caring, compassionate adults who devote their time to a middle school student, offering them support, guidance and encouragement as they transition to high school. Seton has three women who have been mentoring our scholarship recipients during their time in high school. To learn more about the mentor program, contact Anne Kelly, one of our parish mentors at 262-844-9930. To learn more about other volunteer opportunities, send us a message or contact Therese Fennelly at 414-704-9348.
NDSM Graduate Scholarship Program
In 2017, the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton/Notre Dame School Scholarship was established to assist NDSM graduates with attending the high school of their choice. Since then, we have helped 7 graduates. Our first two recipients, Kayla and Eliana graduated from DHS High School and are pursuing higher education. In 2021 we granted a scholarship to a graduate from the boy’s middle school, Eli Prado.
