God's Backyard Bible Camp
August 3-7, 2020
An online, at-home family experience!
(Registration is full, but you are welcome to follow along with our daily broadcast videos each day)
(St. Elizabeth Ann Seton will not be providing an in-person VBC this summer.)
Join our upbeat morning video broadcast with music, Bible stories, activity demonstrations, and more! We’ll dive into five daily themes (serve family, serve friends, serve neighbors, serve community, and serve Jesus) to discover that we can have a blast serving Jesus from our own backyards. Families can continue exploring through the day with a menu of additional learning activities (see below), including daily service projects that will directly give back to friends, family, and the community.
Welcome to Virtual Vacation Bible Camp! Tune in here each morning for the daily broadcast, and get started with God's Backyard Bible Camp, where kids have a blast serving Jesus!

Morning broadcast: Each morning at 9 AM (Central Time) we will broadcast a 20-25 minute video with music and songs, Bible story time, and creative activity demonstrations. We’ll also have a Special Guest of the Day to welcome and bless our children.
The video will also be available on-demand so you can watch it any time of day that best fits your family’s schedule.
Who It’s For: The VBC program is designed with elementary children (entering grades K4-6 in the fall) in mind. Younger and older siblings are welcome to participate.
Parent/adult involvement: We assume that a parent, guardian, grandparent, adult caregiver, or older sibling (teenager or above) is present and engaged with children during the daily morning broadcast and to help with the extended learning activities. Our VBC program has always involved adults and high schoolers interacting with children to help bring learning to life!
- Invite others: We encourage you to invite your neighbors, friends, and cousins to join, where ever they are in the world! Share our VBC webpage with all the details. As public health recommendations allow, you might consider inviting extended family or neighbors to join you — in your home, on the porch, or around an outdoor table.
Flat Jesus: Included in your At-Home VBC Kit and as a digital download on our website, decorate Flat Jesus ahead of time and take him with you all week long as you learn and serve!
We will be looking for LOTS of pictures of you and Flat Jesus singing, crafting, and serving so that we can share our experiences with the congregation.
Upload your pictures here: DropBox by 5:00 PM on Friday, August 7 to have them included in the VBC Wrap-Up video, which will be shown at all Masses (including the live-streaming 8:30 AM Mass) on the weekend of August 8-9.
Closing Celebratory Picnic: If safe to do so, and weather-permitting, we invite all participating families to join us, as their comfort allows, for a closing celebratory picnic on Friday, August 7 at 12:00 PM on the sprawling grounds of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Bring your own lunch, picnic blanket/chairs, beverages, yard games, etc. and pick a socially-distanced spot on the lawn to enjoy the company of other VBC participants.
Extended learning: Each day check out these additional activities to help your family dig into our daily theme a little deeper and have a little more fun together!
