Volunteer Opportunities
Currently there is a need for help in 2 community-based residential facilities for a once a month visit. The needs of this ministry vary. Winter is usually when the most needs occur due to increased illness in the community. No healthcare background is required to be a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound.
Follow Jesus – Serve Others
This ministry has the privilege of bringing our Lord to those unable to receive it due to illness etc. through Holy Communion. This service is greatly appreciated by all who we visit.
Reflecting on this Ministry
To look into the eyes of someone or a family we visit is a real God-moment for me! The person or persons open their heart to me, and so many share their spiritual journey with me. There is a unity of faith in those moments...we are community. I always tell them that they are part of our bigger community at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and that we pray for them. You always see a smile!
