ReConnect

Human Concerns

ReConnect Ministers reach out by phone and in-home visits to parishioners who may feel disconnected due to illness, mobility issues, or life transitions. We call to see how they are doing, and we also visit them in the home to listen, pray, and share Holy Communion with them. Our goal is to ensure that all Parish members who wish to remain connected to the spiritual and communal life of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton can do so.

Volunteer Opportunities

ReConnect Phone Ministers reach out to selected parishioners to see how they are doing, pray with them and see if they would be interested in a visit to receive communion at home. If they are interested in a home visit, they schedule it and notify the Home Visit Volunteers.

ReConnect Home Visit Ministers go out in pairs to visit Parishioners, pray with them and share Holy Communion. Visits are offered monthly or twice a month.

Follow Jesus – Serve Others

The ReConnect Ministry is focused on reaching out to parishioners who, for many reasons, aren’t able to be with us at church or parish events. We want them to know they are still a part of our Parish family. Through phone calls, visits and prayer support, we want every member of our parish family to know they are loved, valued and never forgotten.

Reflecting on this Ministry

Already, this ministry has begun to touch hearts and lives in beautiful ways:

  • One of our first calls was to a parishioner who was confined in her home to a hospital bed. We prayed together as she was going through a challenging life transition. Soon after the call, the parishioner passed away. We are deeply grateful to have shared that moment of prayer and peace with her.

  • We did a home visit with a proud former choir member, who welcomed a visit filled with prayer, song, and stories. He attends Mass online, and now looks forward to our regularly scheduled visits, as well.

  • We visited a couple who recently moved into an assisted living facility. The husband is suffering from dementia, and his wife is trying to adjust to her new world. We have shared two visits now, and she says it means the world just to know they are not forgotten.

  • When we visited a parishioner who was still recovering from a flood, her spirit lifted as we prayed and shared Communion. She now hopes to join our visiting team once her health improves.

Through these encounters, we’ve witnessed the power of simple presence—how prayer, listening, and companionship become a living expression of God’s love.

Jesus reminds us: "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit." (John 5:15). Together, let’s be the branches that extend His love, ensuring that no one is left behind. If you are interested or would like to learn more, please reach out—we’d be so blessed to have you as part of this special ministry.
